Arsenal beat QPR in pre-season training ground match to continue good form

Mikel Arteta's Arsenal took a break from training to play a private friendly fixture

Arsenal beat QPR 4-3 on Tuesday to continue their fine form.

The Gunners will go into their first Premier League game of the season against Fulham full of confidence thanks to their recent victories in both the FA Cup final and the Community Shield.

Mikel Arteta’s men moved on from the win over Chelsea by beating MK Dons 4-1, and followed up on the triumph over Liverpool with a tricky clash against the Championship outfit.

Although the club are yet to give their account of the match, Mark Warburton’s side have revealed the final scoreline, who scored their three goals, and that they were not permitted to stream the match.

The QPR manager said: This was a really useful workout for both teams.

“I would like to express my thanks to everyone at Arsenal for their hospitality.

“The application of the players was excellent and I was really pleased with the way we moved the ball against world-class opposition, and created chances.

“To have this sort of test is useful for the players because it tests them from a physical and tactical perspective."

The Hoops named Ossie Kakay, Bright Osayi-Samuel and Todd Kane as their scorers, having slipped into losing position at 3-1.

Arsenal went on to get a late winner with a side that appeared to include teenage prospect Miguel Azeez.

Arteta watched his side beat Liverpool on penalties at the weekend after a 1-1 draw in normal time, and he is keen to continue to build.

He said: "You never get used to winning. I knew the challenge we faced today against this incredible opponent.

“Thank you very much to the players for the effort and performance.
