Chelsea's summer transfers assessed as Marina Granovskaia delivers Frank Lampard's priorities

Danny Mills believes Chelsea have 'done some very good business' in the transfer window so far.  The Blues have been the most active of the Premier League clubs, wrapping up the signings of the likes of Timo Werner, Hakim Ziyech, Ben Chilwell and others with Bayer Leverkusen star Kai Havertz also expected to make the switch to Stamford Bridge.  And while they have spent their fair share making those signings, Chelsea have gone about things the right way, according to former Man City defender Danny Mills.

You've got Azpilicueta, great experience, you are going to have Kante, Mount, Havertz in midfield," he said on talkSPORT.  "Ziyech, Werner and Pulisic. And then they have strength in depth beyond that.  "It's a real good squad of players. They haven't been able to spend in the last couple of windows but now they have gone for it."

He added: "What I do like is, how many times have we said 'you need this'?  "And the managers don't do it or the club doesn't do good business.  "We've all said Chelsea need a left-back, centre-half and they need a centre-forward who is going to score goals

"And Frank has gone 'yeah, okay, you are right' and he has gone and got them.  "They have got their business done very early and yes, they have spent a lot of money, but I think they have done some very good business."  Chelsea have spent more than £125m already this summer and the expected arrival of Havertz would take that tally beyond £200m.
